We would like to thank all those who shared our appeal and officers from the Metropolitan Police for their assistance.

Officers searching for a missing man from Christchurch are asking for the public’s help to find him.

Ian Spalding, who is 38, was reported missing on Saturday 29 September 2018, but was last seen on Saturday 22 September 2018 by his family. He was in email contact with family members a couple days later, however, he has not been heard from since.

Ian is white, around six feet tall and of slim build. He has dark hair and a wispy beard.

Chief Inspector Jim Beashel, of Dorset Police, said: “Ian’s behaviour is completely out of character and due to the time that has passed since anyone has heard from him, his family is becoming very concerned. Ian also seemed upset in his last email contact.

“There is information that he was in London – in the inner city area – on Saturday 29 September 2018, but we don’t know where he has gone after that or whether he is still there.

“I am appealing for anyone who has seen Ian during the last week or knows where he might be to contact police.

“If Ian himself sees this appeal, please get in touch with your family or police. We all want to ensure you are safe and well.”

Anyone with information or knowledge as to Ian’s whereabouts is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting incident number 29:177.
