Bamber Gascoigne was born in London in January 1935 and died in London in February 2022.
Bamber Gascoigne went to Eton and derived from the land owning class.
He presented University Challenge from 1962 to 1987 before leaving to pursue other projects.

Bamber Gascoigne has though gone on to leave us with a wonderful resource for those interested in history.
At a time when facts have become an inconvenience to many such resources are a rich legacy to leave behind. As ever though such knowledge should merely be a platform to launch out of ignorance and should represent the beginning of a journey and not merely the finale.
