Officers searching for a 91-year-old missing woman from Christchurch are appealing for help from the public to find her.

Joyce Cooney was last seen at her home address in Lymington Road, Highcliffe, yesterday afternoon, Tuesday 23 January 2018.

She is described as white, of slim build with short white hair. She has a cast on her left arm, a bruise to the right side of her face and a scab on the left side. It is believed she was wearing a blue jumper, black trousers and may have a blue pull along shopping trolley with her.

Chief Inspector Steve White, of Dorset Police, said: “Joyce is vulnerable as she may become easily confused and we are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare.

“She is known to go for walks along the coastal path in the Highcliffe area and we are carrying out searches in this vicinity with support from the coastguard and Dorset Search and Rescue as well as elsewhere in Highcliffe.

“I am appealing to anyone who has any information as to Joyce’s whereabouts, or who sees a woman matching her description, to contact police immediately.

“I would also urge Joyce if she sees this appeal to contact us or your family immediately as we all want to ensure you are safe and well.”

Anyone with information or knowledge as to Joyce’s whereabouts is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting incident number 24:168. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
