I suspect that Boris Johnson will announce that he has made a deal with the EU. The Tory Brexiteers will claim that Britain’s interests have been safeguarded and millions of gullible people will fall in line. The free marketeers will laud that we are now free and everyone will be expected to go back to ‘sleep’ .

However, it will be all nonsense. The EU in any economic deal will come out with a better one. It is 27 countries against one and the UK, and ignoring many of the population’s self delusions, will be the least beneficiary in an outcome that will better suit the European union.

Free marketeers will be wrong. In an international state lead economy the ideology of the market will be no more pronounced than it is now. As this excerpt reveals if the UK, for some reason ends up under the World Trade Organisation rules, the UK will merely swap Brussels for Geneva. We will have no more power as a player than we did whilst in the EU.

I am not a supporter of the EU but I am a realist. Anyone who observes Peter Bone in the above clip with an open mind will recognise that he is never likely to be the person who represents the population of the UK. He cares nothing for the country and the majority of the people. If he did he would have suggested a strategy to avoid food banks not their rapid increase. For people like Peter Bone an ignorant empathy free population is his idea of heaven. Those who challenge him and his compatriots are the enemy.

From our perspective though we are the enemy of lies.
