The Guardian (I accept that it is little unfair to classify them as corporate) endorsed the Liberal Democrats in 2010 and along with The Observer and the Daily Mirror, Ed Miliband in 2015. The Independent endorsed the Tory/Lib Dem Coalition. The rest apart from the Express (UKIP) supported the Coalition or the Tories. IBTimes

On social media all of these newspapers are being propped up partially by those who call themselves ‘left wing’ through their constant sharing. The advertisers demand to see web site views and hard sales before they agree financial contracts. The contracts and the subsidisation of the very newspapers… that actively propagandise against politicians and activists on the left are being in part supported by those who are on the left. Does this make sense? It is analogous to fighting a war against an enemy you sold the weapons too.

My case is that there are plenty of alternative and independent news outlets. They need all the support (of any kind) they can get. Let the corporate’s live or die by their own rules and abandon them once and for all for the more deserving media.

Take the plunge. Start today.
