The Weymouth & Portland Chamber of Commerce arranges a monthly business breakfast where over 70 businesses regularly attend. At each breakfast speakers are invited to address the business audience. On 2 June, Michael Hanlon, Founder and CEO of Jurassica, will be addressing the breakfast with an update on the project’s application to the National Heritage Lottery Fund for a major award of £16m.

Jurassica, a registered UK charity, will be the world’s most spectacular prehistoric visitor attraction. Located in a disused limestone quarry on the Isle of Portland on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, Jurassica will showcase and bring to life more than 200 million years of prehistory and tell the story of Deep Time, our planet, and of the life that has evolved upon it. Last year the project was awarded £300,000 from the Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership as part of the Strategic Economic Plan for jobs and growth, and has already attracted substantial sponsorship from businesses in Dorset. If all goes to plan, Jurassica will open in 2021.

Breakfast guests will also get the chance to view the Virtual Tour of the proposed Jurassica site which has been produced by Chamber member Luke Woods.”
