We have already spent time with a number of our partners outlining our priorities for the coming years. Based on the Department of Health quality, innovation, productivity and prevention programme (QIPP), we have integrated this approach into all our plans to make sure we are making the savings required of the NHS over the coming years.
These high level priorities will not change much from year to year, however we have undertaken work to make sure that our vision and our priorities are consistent with those developed from both our health and wellbeing boards.
We have already published our high level priorities which are:
- improving health and reducing health inequalities
- integrating and improving services for children, young people and their families
- integrating and improving community care for adults and older people
- improving mental health services
- improving end of life care services
- reshaping acute services, whilst maintaining access
These priorities aim to deliver:
- less premature deaths
- a better quality of life for people with long term conditions
- better recovery from episodes of ill health or injury
- a positive experience in a safe environment and protection from avoidable harm
The annual operating plan of the current PCT Cluster and the CCG reflects our approach and ambitions for achieving these priorities, and the QIPP programme for the current year.
