Officers investigating a road traffic collision in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at 1.25pm on Saturday 25 November 2023 of a collision involving a bronze-coloured Volvo V40 and a parked vehicle in Hahnemann Road.

It is reported that the driver – a man aged in his 50s from Poole – fled the scene. A man was detained nearby and is due to attend a voluntary police interview.

Police Constable Catherine Hills, of Dorset Police, said: “We understand a white car was following the Volvo at the time of the incident and are keen to speak to the driver as they may have information to assist our enquiries.

“Also, we would like to hear from anyone who saw the manner of driving of the vehicle involved prior to the incident.

“If you captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage, please contact Dorset Police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55230186118. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
