It started with promises of cuts and lower council taxes and then unravelled from there.
Then chaos once again descended on Reform UK’s Kent stronghold, where the party’s attempt at “governing” has turned into something resembling a bad episode of The Apprentice. Five councillors have been kicked out for what the party calls “bringing Reform into disrepute”, which is a bit like being sacked from the Titanic for splashing too much water.
The row follows a leaked video of leader Linden Kemkaran hurling expletives in a private meeting, which she later described as “robust and frank”. Others might call it a meltdown. Now, with councillors accusing each other of bullying, dishonesty and “toxic leadership”, Kent’s Reform administration has managed to do the impossible: make the Lib Dems look organised.
Even the party’s own members are calling it a laughingstock, while the rest of the country watches in disbelief as Reform’s flagship council sails straight into the iceberg of its own incompetence.
