A man involved in a serious road traffic collision near Dorchester has sadly died from his injuries.

Dorset Police was called at 10.19pm on Wednesday 20 March 2019 to reports of a single vehicle collision on the A352 Old Sherborne Road near to Herrison Road involving a black Mini.

A 66-year-old man from Sherborne sustained serious life-threatening injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital for emergency treatment. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he very sadly died of his injuries on Tuesday 2 April 2019.

His family continue to be supported by specially-trained officers.

Inspector Joe Pardey, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family at this extremely difficult time.

“We are continuing to investigate this collision to establish the full circumstances of what happened and I would appeal to any witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage, who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.”
