Support local wildlife with your Christmas Shopping

Dorset Wildlife Trust’s (DWT) Fine Foundation Chesil Beach Centre will be holding its annual festive ‘Christmas Bazaar’ on Sunday 29th November from 10am – 4pm to raise money for local wildlife.

Books, jewellery, homeware, children’s toys, local arts and crafts – all inspired by local wildlife and the natural world – are just some of the exciting gifts that will be available; with stallholders donating a percentage of their profits to DWT.

While the grown-ups ‘shop for wildlife’, children can get festive making recycled decorations and can even meet Father Christmas, who will be setting challenges and handing out presents.

DWT Chesil Beach Centre Assistant and event organiser, Vicky Ashby said, “The Christmas Bazaar is a great day out for all of the family with a spot of shopping and craft activities;  treat yourself to a delicious mince pie and mulled wine from the Taste* café, then go for a walk along the beach admiring the wildlife along the way.  Our gift shop has some great products too, and whether you’re buying Christmas cards or a present for a loved one, you will be supporting Dorset’s wildlife.”

Rob Laughton, from Opticron, will also be on hand to offer expert advice on binoculars and telescopes. A large range will be on sale and available to test out while viewing spectacular wildlife at Chesil and the Fleet Lagoon. 100% of the profit from the sale of these and from the Centre’s own gift shop will go back into conservation work in Dorset.

The Chesil Beach Centre is halfway along the causeway between Weymouth and Portland, postcode DT4 9XE.  The Wild Art Exhibition is open 10am – 4pm from Saturday 7th November, until Sunday 22nd November. For more information about the centre, phone 01305 206191.
