The Biggest Wheel in Bournemouth! The Triangle area welcomes new attraction

In a fantastic first for the Wheels Festival, and indeed the town centre, the awesome Big Wheel comes to the Triangle area.  Offering stunning birds-eye-views over the seafront and across the town the attraction will take residence from Friday May 13thuntil Sunday 5thJune.

Standing an impressive 33 metres tall, the Big Wheel will offer spectacular panoramic vistas at a quieter pace with each of the 27 gondolas rotating a full 360 degrees.

Steve Hughes, Manager of the Bournemouth Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID), said: “We are delighted the BID has been able to bring such a big attraction to Bournemouth Town Centre. It will certainly be a big boost for the town centre economy in the run-up to the Wheels Festival and create a real buzz in the Triangle area.

“As well as adding a new dimension to the Wheels Festival this also gives us a great opportunity to showcase the town centre and help promote Bournemouth as a first-class shopping and leisure destination.”

To celebrate the opening anyone with any BH postcode is being offered a special 20% discount on the standard ticket price for the first week 13th – 19th May (inclusive).  Simply bring a driving licence or utility bill as proof of address.

Open from 10am – 10pm 7-days a week tickets are priced at £5 per adult and £3.50 for children under a metre.

In addition to the Big Wheel there’s lots of fun for all the family during the Wheels Festival (3rd – 5th June).  In The Square you’ll find talented riders from BMX display team, Savage Skills not only performing impressive jumps and twists but also running ‘have-a-go’ sessions (Friday evening only) for children who want to try freestyle riding for themselves.  This is alongside a host of children’s entertainers in the Lower Gardens on Friday and Saturday.

Whatever you choose to see or do at this year’s festival, one thing’s for sure – you’ll find adrenaline-fuelled action at every turn!
