Holly Aiken had always dreamed of owning her own business, and in 1997 after lots of hard work, Holly’s dream came true when she opened House of Health and Beauty in Dorchester.

Holly Aiken, Owner of House of Health and Beauty said “My inspiration has always been my lovely Dad who sadly passed away 12 years ago. He set up his own business from nothing, starting small and working very hard to achieve a very successful, respected business. I have always been very proud of him and learnt an awful lot about running a business from him.

He believed in me and my business plan and was always incredibly supportive, I know he would be so proud that 20 years on House of Health and Beauty is still going strong.”

This year House of Health and Beauty is celebrating 20 beautiful years in business by hosting a variety of events.  As part of the celebrations, the House of Health and Beauty have decided to support Weldmar Hospicecare by raising funds and providing treatments to staff, patients and their families at Weldmar.

On Thursday 13th April, Weldmar will be hosting an Easter event at Joseph Weld Hospice for children that are, and have been supported by Jo Sharkey, Weldmar’s Children’s Support Worker. During the afternoon, family members will be invited to have a treatment at the House of Health and Beauty completely free of charge from Holly’s team.

Jo Sharkey states ‘It is vital to recognise and work holistically with the whole family, as each person has individual needs at different times and different stages. It will be of great benefit for the adults to have some time for self, whilst the younger members of their family are at Weldmar’.

Holly Aiken, Owner of House of Health and Beauty said “The relationship with Weldmar is very important to me as my company ethos has always been about the wellbeing of the whole person and not just the beauty side of the business.  I hope that by helping the families of patients at Weldmar we can give them some much needed time for themselves, helping them to be supportive for their loved ones at this difficult time. During the year we will be doing other events and fundraising for Weldmar”.

House of Health and Beauty is located on Trinity Street in Dorchester and has been in the same location for 20 years. Everyone is welcome at the salon young, old ,male, female and treatments are available for everyone.
