I just cannot let this go without speaking out about it!
President Trump in the worst, most incoherent and sinister speech ever given by a western leader at the UN, this week threatened to use the US’s nuclear arsenal to not just attack Korea, its leadership or its military capacity but to wipe out the entire country!
Yes – that needs repeating.
He threatened to wipe out a whole country and all its people, if they attack any US territory or its allies.
This breaks every international agreement and treaty on the conduct of war.
Remember, the only nation on earth that has used this apocalyptic weaponry is the US, not only once, but in one of the most horrific and disgusting war crimes ever, used it twice, obliterating a second entire city, despite knowing that Hiroshima had forced the Japanese to surrender.
On a lesser scale, but also a huge threat to global peace and stability, he is seeking to advance the far-right Netanyahu regime’s goal of regime change in Iran, despite the fact that the Iranians have elected a more moderate president and have totally kept the terms of the Iranian nuclear deal.
Netanyahu has been pressing for years for the US to do to Iran, what tehUS/UK disastrously did to Iraq.
Netanyahu is acting as a puppeteer to Trump and in the process endangering the triggering of a regional conflict, that could escalate into a 3rd world war.
And his threats to go back to the US’s disastrous 1960s policies of over-turning left-wing governments in South America, such as Venezueal, is an equally disastrous regression in international diplomacy.
Trump favours right-wing dictatorships or repressive or murderous regimes all over the globe, from Duterte to Erdogan, from Putin to King Salman, whilst attacking the liberal democracies and the international agreements seeking to save the planet from the ever worsening planet catastrophe.
Our government must speak out against this rogue US president.
He is a lethal danger not only to North Korea’s entire civilian population but to humanity itself.
The silence from Prime Minister May and almost entire global political leadership and media on Trump’s threat to wipe an entire race from the face of the earth, shocks me to my core.
Has Murdoch and the global billionaire media really immuned us to even this level of existential threat from this rogue unstable arrogant oligarch?
