Officers searching for a woman who went missing from Dorchester have very sadly found a body.

Laura Dodon, 43, was reported missing on Monday 27 July 2020 after failing to contact her family. She had last been seen by family members in Weymouth on Tuesday 21 July 2020.

As part of ongoing searches, officers discovered a body in a field south of Dorchester Rugby Club at 1.11pm on Wednesday 5 August 2020.

While formal identification has not yet taken place, the body is believed to be that of Laura. Her family has been informed. Her death is not being treated as suspicious. The coroner has been notified.

Chief Inspector Neil Wood, of Dorset Police, said: “Our thoughts are with Laura’s family at this very difficult time.

“We would like to thank all those involved in the search efforts and everyone who shared our appeal.”
