Officers investigating the theft of items from a hotel in Bournemouth are asking for anyone with information to come forward – with CCTV images being issued.

The incident happened in the swimming pool male changing room of the West Cliff Hotel in Durley Chine Road at around 12.15pm on Wednesday 4 December 2019.

The victim entered the changing room and saw a man putting on his clothes. This man then helped him set a digital code on the locker as he was having trouble. The victim put his clothes in the locker and left the changing room.

When the victim checked on his locker, he was unable to open it as the code had been changed. After staff assisted the victim, he discovered his jeans containing his wallet were missing.

Sergeant Steve Boston, of Dorset Police, said: “The victim’s wallet contained a number of bank cards, which were subsequently used fraudulently in transactions at a number of shops.

“Following an investigation into the incident I am now in a position to issue CCTV images of a man I would like to speak to.

“I am appealing for anyone who recognises the man pictured to contact police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55190190986. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
