Detectives investigating a report of a rape in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police was called at 3.41am on Saturday 15 August 2020 to a report that a woman was raped in the cemetery on Wimborne Road.

The victim – aged in her 30s – was taken to hospital and is being supported by specially-trained officers.

An investigation is underway and a cordon was put in place to allow crime scene investigators to examine the area.

Detective Constable Clare Cassidy, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We are carrying out a number of ongoing enquiries into this incident.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area of Cemetery Junction between 11.40pm on Friday 14 August 2020 and 3.45am on Saturday 15 August 2020 and saw or heard anything suspicious to please get in touch.

“I would also urge any motorists who were travelling in the area of Cemetery Junction, Wimborne Road and Alma Road and have dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check it for any relevant footage.”
