Detectives investigating an assault in Wareham are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and are seeking to trace a potential witness.
It was reported that at around 6.45pm on Saturday 25 April 2026 a woman aged in her 20s was assaulted by a man who was known to her in the area of Shatters Hill.
The victim sustained serious injuries as a result of the assault.
Detective Constable Ashley Hargreaves-Smith, of Dorset County CID, said: “We are continuing to investigate this matter and offer support to the victim.
“From our enquiries, we now understand there was an older man with a young child who was walking along North Walls and Mill Lane toward the bottom of Shatters Hill. We believe this man may have witnessed the incident and are keen to speak to him and take his account.
“I would also like to hear from anyone with further information that might assist our enquiries.”
