10 year old boy hit by car near Dorchester. Witnesses sought

Officers investigating a serious road traffic collision in Dorchester are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.

The incident occurred on Bridport Road near to the junction with Whitfield Road and was reported at 5.17pm on Saturday 6 October 2018.

A 10-year-old boy was crossing the road together with another 10-year-old pedestrian when the collision with a Mini Cooper happened.

The boy was taken to Dorset County Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the car, a 23-year-old local woman, was uninjured.

Police Sergeant Fern Graham, of the traffic unit, said:  “I am appealing for any witnesses to the collision who have not yet spoken with officers or anyone who was in the area at the time who may have dash cam footage to contact police.”
