Health and Wellbeing Boards are a requirement of the new Health and Social Care Act 2012. They have been established to improve the health and wellbeing of local people, reduce inequalities and make sure that there is joined up working between health and care services. The aim is for the Dorset Health and Wellbeing Strategy to be the Board’s overarching plan to improve health and wellbeing in Dorset.

On conclusion of the initial phase of consultation responses will be collated to help shape a final version. A second, but shorter period of consultation on the final version will take place toward the end of the year and be concluded in time for the Strategy to be formally adopted by the Board in time for April 2013.
