Officers searching for a missing vulnerable man from Poole are appealing for help from the public to find him.

Allan Butler, aged 83, was reported missing to Dorset Police at 6pm today, Saturday 8 December 2018 after a family member discovered he was not at his home address on Beresford Road where it was expected he would be.

He is described as white, around five feet nine inches tall and of slim build. He also wears glasses.

His car – a red Toyota Aygo with the registration number HF64 WJA – was also not at his address.

Chief Inspector Alan Setchell, of Dorset Police, said: “We are becoming extremely concerned for Allan’s welfare as it is completely out of character for him to have gone missing without informing his family where he was going. We also understand that he has become increasingly confused recently.

“I am urging anyone who recognises him from the photo or description provided, or who has any information as to his whereabouts, to contact us. If you see his car please also report this to Dorset Police.

“If Allan sees this appeal I would ask him to make contact with us as your family are extremely worried about you and want to ensure you are safe.”

Anyone with information or knowledge as to Allan’s whereabouts is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 8:348.
