Officers investigating an assault on a blind man in Poole are releasing a CCTV image of the suspect.

The incident happened at around 5.55pm on Tuesday 21 August 2018 at Candy Choccy Bar on Lower Blandford Road in Broadstone.

The victim – a man aged in his 50s and a French national – was waiting in line at the counter with a friend. Another man entered the store, pushed a separate woman who was waiting at the pay point and then came back to the till to purchase items. As this man left the store he pushed the victim on the chest causing him to lose his balance and step back, almost falling to the floor.

Police Community Support Investigator Chris Hardy, of Poole police, said: “We believe this was an unprovoked assault, which left the victim very upset.

“Following enquiries, I am now in a position to issue a CCTV image of a man we would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

“If you know who this man is, please contact Dorset Police or call Crimestoppers anonymously.”
