The further to the right one goes, the more agreement there is with Keir Starmer’s decision to ban the nonviolent activism of Palestine Action. It is also clear that the more right-wing one is, the more likely they are to support the Zionist policy of colonialism and the belief that one religion has the right to force another religion off of their land.

It also reveals, though, that the more to the left one moves, the more one is likely to oppose the banning of nonviolent groups and the subjugation of indigenous populations.
However, as Mint Press exposes, the Starmer government is removing the banned status from actual terrorists:
The UK has officially removed Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) — an Al-Qaeda linked militia — from its list of terrorist organizations. According to an order laid before the Parliament, HTS will no longer face restrictions under the Terrorism Act 2000. The Starmer government claims the decision will “enable diplomatic engagement” with Syria’s de facto authorities and help advance “counterterrorism” and migration goals. A group once recognized as an Al Qaeda affiliate, responsible for sectarian attacks, beheadings and persecution of minorities in Syria, is now being rebranded as a potential “partner.” Meanwhile, the same UK government has criminalized Palestine Action — a non-violent movement that targets arms manufacturers supplying Israel — labeling it a terrorist organization. The irony couldn’t be starker: Britain is normalizing jihadist proxies while persecuting activists who expose war profiteers and call for accountability in Gaza.
What a mixed-up world we live in. No one, it appears, can rely on political parties to apply logic anymore, especially the ones chasing power.
