Two early twenty somethings from Weymouth decided about eighteen months ago to set up a Facebook page to help young people with mental health issues. Following the suicide of a young man from their school days, Josh Jenkins and Sam Cridland (both formerly of All Saints School) got together and set up Speak Out. Since then they have started working on a website and now their first festival. (Like a proverbial bus the second is at the Old Spa on 11th August).
Young people (although everyone is welcome) who just want to talk or share their experiences… can visit the page. Speak Out are working closely with renowned organisations that offer them support, guidance and if required referral.

A wonderful afternoon and here is to many more and the hope that things can change and that mental health issues become much less of an issue across communities.
Josh and Sam would like to give a massive thank you to Dorset Mind, CathysHealingWorld, Dorset Eye, Sara Lovett, Samaritans, Rachael Louise Parker, Jade Parker ( Socialise ), Mykee Griffiths, Weymouth Osteopathy, Penny Jones, Tim Fawkes and Laura Stephanie for helping to make our first #speakoutfest happen!
Also a huge thank you to everyone who donated equipment, their time and anything else that allowed us to make yesterday a success!
Share the love xx
Others have also been inspired by Josh and Sam to express their struggles with mental health in many different ways.
Mental Health: Young People’s Despair
If you have anything then send to Speak Out and help others know that they are surrounded by beautiful people.
And remember the next festival this Saturday at the Old Spa on Dorchester Road.
Spread the love xxxxx
