Featuring a giant golden bunny, exciting giveaways and activities, local businesses are hosting a special Easter Weekend from the 14th – 17th April 2017.

Bournemouth’s coastal businesses are uniting over Easter to provide a wide range of family-friendly entertainment. An array of activities, free giveaways, costumed Easter bunnies, live music and performances, plus a giant inflatable golden bunny will be hopping to various coastal locations over the Easter weekend.

Getting families to explore the local area, Bournemouth’s GIANT Easter Weekend is being organised by the Coastal Business Improvement District (BID). Featuring an exciting range of activities, it will highlight a wide variety of businesses, from tourist attractions and retailers to food and drink providers. The weekend will begin with the arrival of a giant inflatable Golden Easter Bunny in Bournemouth’s Lower Gardens.

Those visiting the giant bunny will also get the opportunity to enter the Giant Golden Bunny competition and win prizes by uploading a selfie alongside the attraction onto social media with the hashtag #LoveBournemouthBunnies and guessing the golden rabbit’s name.

The GIANT Bournemouth Easter Weekend marks the grand finale of the #LoveBournemouthBunnies competition. In the run up to Easter, 10 Golden Bunnies have been moving across 70 businesses within the coastal area. Moving every three days, shoppers have to locate and upload selfies with the Golden Bunnies onto social media using the #LoveBournemouthBunnies hashtag for a chance to win prizes.

Running until the 18th April 2017, prizes include a family pass for RockReef, a family ticket for the Oceanarium, an afternoon tea and overnight stay in one of the 3 Bournemouth Hallmark Hotels, 1 free spa treatment, and an afternoon tea at the Hotel Miramar.

Stefan Krause, Coastal BID Manager, said:

“We are delighted to bring a fun weekend of activities to entertain visitors from far and wide this Easter. Showcasing businesses in our local area, there will be some excellent giveaways and activities. Look out for the giant golden bunny, take selfies, and get exploring!’’
