On Friday 28th April people will be sleeping out in Saxon Square in Christchurch from 7pm until 6am to raise awareness of homelessness and to raise funds for EDP Street Homeless Outreach Service.

The evening will start with a performance in the square from Funky Little Choir. Throughout the evening there will be a number of activities for participants to take part in, including shelter building with cardboard boxes donated to us from Waitrose. Refreshments will be available throughout the evening.

The evening will be a fun event for everyone who takes part and there will be a chance for EDP to share more information about our work with those who are sleeping rough in Dorset. The number of people sleeping rough in England has risen each year since 2010 and is becoming more common, reaching smaller towns and seriously impacting communities on many levels. EDP’s Street Homeless Outreach Team are working to ensure that people who are sleeping rough have the support they need.

If you are interested in attending you can register at https://www.edp.org.uk/edp-sleep-april-2017/ If you are able to EDP ask for a suggested donation of £5 to register, which will help them to cover the costs of holding the event, and they are asking participants to raise a minimum of £50 sponsorship.
