Officers are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Charmouth.

Dorset Police was called at 12.22pm on Saturday 8 July 2023 to reports of a single vehicle collision in Lower Sea Lane involving a silver Vauxhall Corsa.

The ambulance service attended but very sadly the driver, a man aged in his 60s, died at the scene. His family has been informed and HM Coroner notified.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident. It reopened just before 3pm.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the collision are ongoing.

Police Constable Shaun Ferguson, from the traffic unit, said: “I would like to thank members of the public for their patience whilst the road remained closed, and would ask anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already spoken to officers to please contact us.”
