Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following an assault in Weymouth.

At around 5.05pm on Wednesday 7 February 2024, it is reported that a local man aged in his 20s was assaulted by an unknown man in The Marsh Playground behind the leisure centre in Knightsdale Road.

The victim was punched to the side of the face and taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not serious.

Police Constable Jamie Ralphs, of Weymouth police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened to please come forward.

“If you have information that may help identify the unknown man involved, please get in touch.”
