A man has come forward following a CCTV appeal in relation to an alleged assault in Bournemouth.

It was reported that at around 11.15pm on Saturday 17 February 2024 a man aged in his 60s was assaulted in Poole Hill and sustained serious facial injuries.

Following a CCTV appeal and enquiries by detectives, a 29-year-old man from Bournemouth has come forward and is due to attend a voluntary police interview in relation to the incident.

Detectives are issuing images of a man they would like to identify as they investigate an assault in Bournemouth.

It is reported that at around 11.15pm on Saturday 17 February 2024 a man was assaulted by another man by the eastbound bus stop on Poole Hill. It is reported that the man was verbally abusive before he punched the victim, causing him to fall to the ground.

The victim – a man in his 60s – attended hospital for treatment to serious facial injuries.

Detective Constable Teighlor-Jade Howard, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We take reports of public place violence of this nature very seriously and we are conducting a full investigation into this incident.

“We have obtained CCTV images of a man we would like to identify as part of our enquiries and I would urge anyone who recognises him to please contact us.”
