Open House at the Dorset Centre for the Creative Arts

Poundbury-based Dorset Centre for the Creative Arts are throwing their doors open on Saturday 16th April to celebrate the  six months since their launch in October 2015.

The Dorset Centre for the Creative Arts has hosted a wide range of masterclasses since October in areas as diverse as painting in watercolours, basketry, airbrushing, bronze casting and stone carving together with the highly successful industry-recognised ‘Hot Lime’ Day in January.

The Centre – located on Middle Farm Way, Poundbury – will be open to visitors from 9.00am to 4.00pm with many demonstrations and have-a-go activities on offer including beadwork, raku pottery, wood carving, stonemasonry, banner painting and bronze casting.

Visitors will also be able to visit the studios of Notarianni Glass and an exhibition and sale of prints from the locally-based ALT-P group whilst enjoying the culinary skills of the HIX Academy kitchen.

Sarah Drew, Director of the Dorset Centre for the Creative Arts said:

“We are all really looking forward to Saturday and to sharing the talents of our many artists and exhibitors with our visitors. The last six months have been both hectic and creative but above all really exciting in terms of the range of masterclasses we have been able to offer and the number of students we have been able to welcome to the centre.

“We intend to build further on our course range and will be offering an extensive and unique programme of late spring and summer events for the people of Dorset”.
