New Shows Coming to Poole Lighthouse

As fans prepare to go World Cup crazy this summer, Lighthouse announces its own match of the day with Poole’s most famous football resident booking a welcome return home fixture in An Evening with Harry Redknapp.

Harry’s laugh-out-loud tales from a well-lived lifetime in football are among the highlights of a typically broad range of entertainment announced in the latest round of new shows on sale at Lighthouse.

And whether it’s the salty songs of the sea, burlesque’s sensual delights, real life stories of Dorset’s women, or the breakout artistry of young folk singers, the new shows on sale this week offer something for everyone.

Months of research, writing and rehearsal have come to fruition as Unearthed makes its debut this summer. A celebratory new play created by hundreds of Dorset women, it unearths 12 incredible historical women who lived, loved, survived and thrived across our county. Just as revealing no doubt will be wildlife cameraman Hamza Yassin on his first theatre tour, while astronomer and author Adrian West brings his Night Sky Show to our stage for the first time.

There’s an eagerly anticipated Concert Hall return for the Fisherman’s Friends sea shanty band, while standout young folk artists Amelia Coburn – fresh from her collaboration with music legend Paul Weller – Ellie Gowers and Sam Brookes are heading for the Sherling Studio, as are the dynamic trio of Toby Shaer, Archie Moss & Jack Warnock.

And for something completely different, Tease brings together a top comedy compere and West End burlesque sensations Turkish Delight and Violet Thistletease.
