This is intended as the next in a series by individual artists, from Artwey.

Hi! I’m Stevie Durston

I was born in Weymouth, but spent twenty-seven years in the U.S.A. While there I picked up an M.F.A. in Set and Costume Design for the theatre and worked in several small professional theatres, as well as teaching these subjects in a four year college. However, my first love has always been painting.  I exhibited in shows in New york, Chicago, and California, and even painted a large mural for a small town museum!

On retiring to my home town I have continued to paint; delighting in trying a variety of media and subjects, as I believe this keeps my work fresh. My favourites, however, have always been land- and sea-scapes, particularly trying to capture the ever-changing moods of the sea. Recently, this has led to a fascination with storms…!
