Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is working closely both with staff and with representatives of the British Medical Association to ensure that the impact of industrial action by doctors on June 21 is kept to a minimum and that patient safety and the quality of care is maintained.

All patients who need urgent or emergency treatment will receive this on the day. This will include all inpatient and outpatient cancer treatment. Inpatients at the hospital will also receive the normal level of care.

In order to minimise disruption on the day a number of routine outpatient appointments and operations planned for June 21 have been rescheduled. All patients who are affected are being contacted and alternative arrangements will be made.
