A body has very sadly been found in the search for missing Poole man Owen Lavelle.

At 11.20am on Sunday 5 January 2020 Dorset Police was called to reports that the body of a man had been found in a wooded area of Talbot Avenue in Bournemouth.

While the body is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of Owen. His family has been made aware and is being supported by officers. The coroner has been informed.

Owen, 37, was reported missing at 9.25am on Sunday 29 December 2019, having last been seen during the night riding away from an address in Baverstock Road.

Chief Inspector Neil Wood, of Dorset Police, said: “Our thoughts are with Owen’s family and friends at this very sad time.

“We would like to thank all those who assisted with searches and shared our appeals over recent days.”
