Tragedy as woman dies following collision in Christchurch

A woman who was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a road traffic collision in Christchurch has sadly died.

Dorset Police received a report at 8.09am on Tuesday 8 December 2020 of a collision on Quay Road involving a black Ford Fiesta and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a local woman aged in her 70s, was taken to hospital and officers have now confirmed that she has sadly died from the injuries she sustained. Her family are aware and are being supported by police.

Sergeant Craig Tatton, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who died and her loved ones at this extremely difficult time for them.

“We are continuing our enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident and I would like to renew our appeal for any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.”
