Loads of space on First Great Western to Dorchester this morning. Can’t understand what Corbyn is on about. People were getting off before their destination because it was so hot, crowded and claustrophobic. Sitting on the floor is a luxury on First Great Western service to coast in the summer.

An elderly lady had been taken on a train for first time in her life. It was not an experience she wanted to repeat. Windows couldn’t be opened and hot as hell. A typical summer on FGW.

Well I’ve had to stand on the Edimburgh – Durham, the Glasgow – Crewe, and when it comes to the hoi poloi who commute from working class satellites to Glagow every day, the standing room only is normal and worse if it breaks down – every member of staff I’ve spoken to hopes for renationalisation – lol had to type that three times because the iPhone kept autocorrecting to denationalisation, now there’s a funny thing!
