Officers who discovered a body in Iford believe it to be that of missing Bournemouth woman Jean Lea.

At 4.33pm on Monday 22 January 2018 Dorset Police received a report that a body had been found in the river Stour in Iford. Although the body has yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of Jean Lea.

Jean was believed to have left her home address on Meadow View Road shortly before 3am on Sunday 26 March 2017.

Detective Inspector Richard Wiseall, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Jean’s family has been updated of the discovery and is being supported by officers. Our deepest sympathies are with them at this difficult time.

“The coroner has been notified and we do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

“We have also updated the family of missing man Andrew Latcham of this development. Searches are continuing for him in the Blandford area.”
