Officers investigating an assault on a shopkeeper in Christchurch are issuing CCTV images of four people they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

At around 1.20pm on Friday 27 July 2018 a woman, who was with two men, took a number of items from Bury’s convenience store in Mudeford and made off without paying.

At around 8.10am on Wednesday 1 August 2018 a group of two men and two women, one of whom was the shoplifter from the previous incident, entered the store.

The shopkeeper tried to close the door in order to detain the woman but one of the men stopped him and put the victim in a headlock. All four of them then left the store.

Police Constable Dominic Upshall, of East Dorset Police, said: “We have carried out various enquiries into this incident to try and identify those involved but have so far been unsuccessful.

“I am now releasing CCTV images of the four members of the group in the hope that someone will recognise them. I would urge anyone with information about their identity to contact police.”
