By 2020 Google and Facebook are expected to take 71 per cent of all the money spent in the UK on digital advertising, according to a report by analysts OC&C. (Press Gazette)

As a consequence our news and entertainment online could be a parochial shell of entirely dumbed down content in which anyone who seeks to provide an alternative will have to do so voluntarily. Unless we commit ourselves to supporting alternative media now only those who are affluent enough to afford the time and comittment will provide it.
