Witness appeal following serious injury road traffic collision in North Dorset

Officers investigating a serious injury road traffic collision in North Dorset are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Shortly before 12noon on Saturday 28 July 2018 a green Vauxhall Astra collided with a wall outside the Milton Farm caravan site at Milton on Stour near Gillingham. No other vehicles were involved.

The driver, an 18-year-old man from Mere in Wiltshire, was airlifted to Southampton Hospital and a rear seat female passenger, aged 21 and from Warminster in Wiltshire, was taken by air ambulance to hospital in Bristol.

The two other occupants of the vehicle, a 16-year-old girl and 20-year-old man, were also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police Sergeant Mark Scammell, of the traffic unit, said: “The next of kin of those involved have been informed and we are investigating the circumstances of this collision.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or the manner of driving of the vehicle prior to it, to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the relevant time and who has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage.”
