‘Significant black mark for Esther McVey, Work and Pensions Secretary.

Accused in a letter from Sir Amyas Morse, the Auditor General, of lying.

Her statements to MPs about universal credit were “not correct”.

She has refused to see him. Her assertions “not proven”’.

(Sam Coates, Deputy Political Editor The Times.)

Will the PM call her in and reprimand her? Dismiss her? Of course not. Lies and deceit are a badge of honour for this government. In fact she will probably be in line to become Chancellor soon given the honesty in that department over time.

For those on benefits this is just another attack on not only their lives but the public intellect that judges them. When you bite into that mushy apple and spit it out leaving a rancid taste. That’s the Tory party for most of their voters. Or at least it should be.
