A new ‘Guide to Services’ will be delivered to parts of Weymouth next week.

The leaflet is a pilot produced by the Melcombe Regis Board. It aims to help residents find out about essential services that are available to them.

The leaflet will be delivered to Melcombe Regis and the surrounding area. A copy is also available online at dorsetforyou.com/service-guide

Matt Prosser, Chairman of the Melcombe Regis Board and Chief Executive of Weymouth & Portland Borough Council, said: “I hope residents will find this guide useful and will keep it to hand. If you have ever wondered who to contact for essential services, this guide will help.  

“The request for a new ‘Guide to Services’ came from the Park Community Centre. I am pleased that we have been able to produce such a comprehensive leaflet. Watch out for it next week as it will hit doormats in Melcombe Regis and the surrounding area from 8th January.

The Melcombe Regis Board is a multi-agency body set-up so public service organisations can work together to improve the quality of life of people who live and work in the area because  Melcombe Regis is in the top 10 per cent of the most deprived neighbourhoods in the country.

It is made up of Weymouth & Portland Borough Council, Dorset Police, Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, Weymouth College, Public Health Dorset, Dorset County Council, Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner, Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group, Team Around Melcombe Regis and Aster Housing.
